This installation was a complete top-to-bottom premium water heater system upgrade, built to our highest installation standards. We replaced all exposed copper water piping from the ceiling to the water heater, installed two new 3/4-inch full-port isolation shutoff valves for easier future servicing, added a properly sized thermal expansion tank, and upgraded the venting from a 3-inch flue to a new 4-inch flue system to meet the installation requirements.

For maximum leak protection, we installed a FloodStop automatic leak detection system. If water is detected in the drain pan, the system sounds an audible alarm and automatically shuts off the water supply to the water heater, preventing additional water from entering the system and minimizing the risk of water damage. We also piped the drain pan directly into the home’s French drain to provide continuous drainage.
